ARCHBISHOP UPHAM’S PASTORAL LETTER, APRIL 25, 2025
New Archbishop Elected
On December 6, 2025 the members of the Council of Bishops unanimously elected The Right Reverend Dr. John E. Upham, Jr. to lead the Bishops and faithful people of the Anglican Province of Christ the King as its Fourth Archbishop.
Archbishop-Elect Upham will assume his office on January 1, 2025 upon the retirement of the current Archbishop, The Most Reverend Frederick G. Morrison, on December 31, at which time Archbishop Morrison will be designated as Archbishop Emeritus, consistent with our Tradition.
Archbishop-Elect Upham currently serves as Rector of St. George’s Anglican Pro-Cathedral in Raleigh, NC and as the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Atlantic States.
